Nevada Energy Transmission line Project

Updated: Apr 16

Under Logan Simpson, I assisted in the biological resource investigation and analysis for the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) consultation and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and the USFWS Biological Assessment for the Nevada Energy Greenlink West (GLWP) transmission powerline project that spans throughout the southern half of Nevada. For the project, I have assisted with the required Mojave desert tortoise pre-project surveys along the project's survey area near Beatty, NV to support the EIS analysis and Biological Assessment.

I have assisted with desktop analysis to determine potentially effected BLM sensitive, State of Nevada protected, and federally protected species from construction efforts from the project, and consolidating appropriate biological regulations and conservation measures to be implemented during construction of the powerline project with Nevada Energy.

I have completed two BIA Biological Evaluations for the Las Vegas Indian Paiute and Walker River Tribes to authorize the initial geotechnical investigation for the GLWP on tribal lands.

I have finished drafting the biological resource sections for sensitive and federal species for the Public-EIS that was published for its 90-day review in the Federal Register on May 31st, 2023. The Final-EIS was published in the Federal Register in June 2024.

I worked with a team of three biologists to submit the Biological Assessment for review by the USFWS. The Biological Opinion was published in June 2024.
